About Hardwood Winnipeg
What we do
Hardwood Winnipeg refinishes existing hardwood floors for homeowners across the city. If your floors are dull, scratched, stained, or damaged, we bring them back: a screen and recoat when that is all they need, a full sand-back when the wood itself is worn, plus staining, board repair, and water-damage work. Most of what we touch is oak or maple, which is what went into Winnipeg houses through the whole first half of the last century and is still sitting under a lot of carpet today.
How we work
We start with a free in-home look. We tell you plainly whether your floors need a recoat or a full refinish, because those are very different jobs and only one of them is right for your floor. Then we give you an honest number and a plan. You keep the written quote and decide on your own time. We do not charge for the visit and we do not chase you afterward.
What to expect
A written quote that lists the number of coats, the finish product, and exactly what is and is not included. We work around the prairie humidity swing rather than pretending it does not exist, which mostly means being realistic about cure times in deep winter and about how much a floor will move between January and July. We are straight with you about what can be saved and what has to be replaced.
What we will tell you no about
If your floor has already been sanded as far as it can go, we will say so instead of taking the job. If what looks like hardwood turns out to be an engineered floor with a veneer too thin to sand, we will say that too. A floor you cannot get back is worth more as an honest conversation than as one more invoice.
